Bye Bye 'Liza

So little Eliza, who is afraid of everyone and everything new, or so I thought until we went to the park and she met the slides.  I followed up the stairs at the big kid park, and before I knew it she followed her sisters over to the slide and sat down and slid down the big twisty slide all by herself.  She did it several times, each time telling me, as she slid down, "Bye Bye 'Liza!"

Quotables

So the kids have just been hilarious lately.  Their little personalities are just shining through.

Eliza:

Eliza really hurt her ankle about a week ago, and she wouldn't walk on it for the entire day.   She was trying to tell me what was wrong and she kept saying, "ouchy bagel!  ouchy bagel!" I finally concluded she meant ouchy ankle.  I taught her "ankle," but she insists that it is now a "pankle"

Hazel:

We have been drumming up the conference excitement and Hazel was remembering how we played bingo.  She couldn't remember the exact name for it though and it came out as:

"Remember how we play conference Mango?"

Then last night as I was putting her to bed she woke herself up from her sleep and asked me, "Mommy are you brave enough to take me on a parachute?  I will be brave it you will go with me in a pink parachute."  Then without another word she rolled over and went to sleep.  Totally random since I don't know where she has seen parachutes, but still very cute.  We may go skydiving sometime :)

Miriam:

Miriam was eating a lollypop from her birthday.  I told her to finish it and them go brush her teeth.  She was a little irritated that I would be so pushy, so I explained lollypops were REALLY bad for teeth. She looked thoughtfully at me and said, "They are not that bad."  "Yes they are."  I replied.  She then said, "Well Mommy, they are not as bad as Lamanites."  Very logial, I had to concede defeat.

Jacob:

Jacob and I were reading the Book of Mormon, and I was trying to explain to him what the word "dominion" meant.  I told him that Jared and I had "dominion" over the house we are living in.  Jacob thoughtfully replied, "No mommy you don't, the Landlord does."

The kids also love having Uncle McKay around and it is nice to have another set of hands to read books or do whatever :)

Happy Happy Birthday Miri Dear!!!

Miriam turned five this last Monday.  It was a dream come true for Miriam, cupcakes, parties, and a trip to Zurchers (the fun party store right by where we used to live in Orem).  Hazel took the birthday really hard because she was not the birthday girl.  So the picture of her singing Happy Birthday to Miriam really tugs at my heart.  Jacob is older and wiser, but you can still see he is dreaming of his birthday :)

She got a "balance bike"  Her friend Lilly has one of these bikes and they are amazing for teaching kids how to ride a two wheeler.  Miriam can already glide along with no training wheels.  It is just like a regular two wheeler, but it does not have pedals, so they just scoot along until they are gliding with their feet up.  It is so natural, it beats chasing them holding on to the seat while they panic and cry and learn to keep their balance!

...and the little one said, "WAKE UP!"

So after a very long night everyone ended up in our bed. There were five in the bed and the little one said, "WAKE UP!" I couldn't resist a photo.

We have been actively potty training Hazel, and it has been quite a task. Jacob was heard the other day to say, "You will hear her in a minute, she'll be screaming like a Buffalo!"

A HAPPY LEMON

This is mommy and Jacob's new logo. Jacob designed it image and took it with a camera. I thought it was really fun. If Jacob and I ever start a business, it will be "a happy lemon" and we will sell used cars. LOL
