Happy Happy Birthday time .... Again....

I love this shot of Lucy eating sprinkles, and then eating a sugar snap pea, which you can still see in her mouth :)

So Miriam turned eight...

We love our little Miriam.  She was so patient as the little girls opened her presents, and decorated her cake with letter "E's" that we took off right after :)

She is so excited about life and happy to be a friend to everyone who comes her way.  She has a tender heart and a loving disposition.  She is the most reliable little babysitter we have (not that we leave her alone), but she can be trusted to follow around her little sisters and make sure they are safe and happy.

I wish I had more kids just as good as her!  Oh....yeah... we do!  and we love them all.

Happy Birthday Miriam!

Spring...

So we learned today is a pretty special day.  Not only is it the Spring equinox, but it is also the day of a total solar eclipse (unfortunately not seen in the US), it is exactly halfway between all the blood moons of the tetrach, and a super moon(the moon will orbit as close to the earth as possible) tonight.  WOW!!!

With those historic facts out of the way, we are enjoying spring coming into our little corner of the world, picking daffodils, riding bikes, playing in the sandbox, and just watching the leaves come back.

We went on a family walk the other night and I was just laughing as I walked in the road for a small part of the journey.  Lucy came running over to me, I was worried she was making bee-line for the road, but I needn't have worried, as she was only coming to my rescue.  She said very seriously, "Mommy...NOT IN THE ROAD, come on, off the road on the walk."

Her consciousness is impressive.  She was watching me intently as I ate some strawberries the other day, not sure what she was getting at, because I know she does not like strawberries, I asked her, "Lucy, what do you want?"

She replied, "Chew it Mommy, not choke!"

Ah she loves me, so she keeps me safe!
Trust me when you are this cute, you need your beauty sleep

Happy Birthday, a little bit late...

She's cute, she's two, and she LOVES sprinkles!!!!

This moment was captured by Jacob

Yes, that is one of many empty sprinkle containers that remained after her party

Lucy's personal slice of "cake"

Here's the proof!  Caught her sprinkle handed.

Since Lucy does not like cake, or ice cream, or whip cream, we decided to indulge her passion for small sweet sprinkles.  We had a cake for show ad let her cover it in sprinkles.  She nibbled and nibbled until she had had enough sprinkles for a life time, then she politely said, "All done."

I suppose it is worth noting that she calls sprinkles,
"MINKLES"

We love our little birthday girlie :)

BY THE SEA...

This is how you do Legoland 7 months pregnant :)

So, I guess the cabin fever got to us, or maybe it was knowing that our precious new baby is coming in a couple months and we wouldn't be going anywhere for a while, but we decided to take a trip to the beach in California and a stop at Legoland this last week.

We seem to always hit the beach on rainy days, but that didn't dampen the enthusiasm, except when Eliza fell into the salty sea and was completely soaked.

We discovered Jared is a seagull whisperer.  He taught the kids how to hold up Cheetos and the seagulls grabbed it from their hands with the feet.  They all had a blast, until Lucy started dropping gold fish crackers for the seagulls right at her feet and the birds were swirling all around her, them she flipped out, but Daddy, the seagull whisperer (or shouter in this case) frightened the menacing birds away...for a moment.

The kids wanted to swim every chance they could at the pool, even though it was freezing cold...brrrrrr

Legoland was fun...it exhausted the kids, and mommy and almost Daddy :)

Lucy kept crying to go home, but then today she cried to go to the beach.  I reminded her of the long car ride in her buckle, but she just smiled and said, "Yeah, let's go to beach!"

The drive was an adventure to say the least.  We did great on the way down, but coming home we were a bit travel weary and there were tears all around, we almost had even Mommy and Daddy tearing up as we sailed through St. George at 6:30 p. m.  Jared was our star driver and we joked because his lead foot got heavier and heavier as the kids began crying...by the time he realized how fast he was going he saw police lights in the rearview...oopsy....

Then and hour later...police lights again... double oopsy.  So all in all we got one warning and one ticket :)  OH, and we made it home in one piece and tucked the tired little munchkins in their beddy-byes.

Hopefully we made a happy memory!
