Happy Face

Jacob and Miriam like to read together before bed while I read to the little kids and put Little Lue down.  The other night Jacob went with Jared to do some shopping.  Miriam started to cry as we were reading stories.  I could not for the life of me think what could be wrong.  I asked her and finally she said,

"I just miss Jacob's happy face!"

Rain is Special

As we were falling asleep the other night, Hazel was quizzing me about the seasons, the weather, asking me, "In which season does it snow?  What season has Christmas?  What season do we swim in?"
I answered her with the appropriate season each time.  Finally she asked me which season rain fell in.  I told her that is rained in EVERY season!  She thought for a minute then said,

"Rain is very special, it is like a beautiful jewel that falls from the sky and waters the flowers
