Jacob turned 5 today. All his birthday dreams and wishes came true. A whole day to play with mommy, daddy and the girls. He chose a Jesus picture for his room, played with all his new toys, (Thanks family!), and ate lots of lime chips, and drank apple juice spicy. We sure love our birthday boy....stay tuned for September 23rd, when we will air birthday girl, Hazel :)

Soccer Time

So, soccer has been an adventure. The games are 1 hour long, no subs and a 5 min half time. It is a little intense for 4 and 5 year olds. Jared has become the assistent coach by default. Jacob scored his teams only goal the first 30 seconds of the 1st game and joined the rest of his teammates crying and laying on the grass after the 1st 15 minutes. The second game was much better for crying. We will see how it goes. Jacob finally got his uniform and is number 12. After being stepped on many times chasing the ball in the 4-5 year old mosh pit, Jacob told me he has a plan. He is going to wait by the white line and jump out at the green team and steal the ball. Pretty good plan. I tried to convince him it was better to run to the ball, get kicked and stepped on and then run to the goal, he is not so sure :)

Any better ideas for what my sign could say?---thanks, Jacob

Little Janie? Little Wumpy?

There has been discussion at our house about the nickname for little Eliza Jane. Jacob suggested little Janie, and we all liked it. Miriam looked a little sad and said, "I need a nickname." What would you like I asked. She thought for a moment and replied, "How about little wumpy?"
